Little Grizzlies After School Program

Little Grizzlies is the place for after school fun and activities! The program is open to students in Learning Readiness through 6th grade. Enrollment forms can be found in a rack outside the NW Library, or visit the Little Grizzlies table set up at Open House or by contacting Little Grizzlies Supervisor, Denise Parson at 218-666-5221 or 218-969-6115 or dparson@isd2142.k12.mn.us

Fitness Center

 

The fitness center is open to the public.  Each member is required to sign an informed consent & release form and community education registration form for memberships. Parents will sign for students under 18 years of age. Enrolled students are free, but students under 7th grade must be supervised by an adult at all times.

Fees are payable the first of each month to Fitness Center Supervisor. Hours of operation are subject to change.Group rates for businesses are available as well as  3, 6, 9, or 12 month memberships at a discounted rate. Please contact Denise Parson for pricing or questions.

Slow Yoga for Fun

Unwind, stretch and play with yoga! Be led through basic stretching, guided breathing and vinyasa sequences to help calm body and mind. Wear comfortable clothes that are easy to move in. Bring a yoga mat or towel and water. Everyone is welcome!

Zumba

It is difficult to find a certified Zumba instructor so we are going to motivate ourselves by motivating each other. Let’s join together to follow along to Zumba DVDs to get/stay in shape and enjoy the company. We will start with one night a week and may possibly go to two nights. Please pre-register by Oct. 1, so we can plan for space.

 

$5 per participant, per semester plus $5 community education fee.

Stenciled Signs

Learn the secrets to stenciling and make a beautiful stenciled sign. Easy to follow instructions. No experience necessary! Stenciling/painting on wood with acrylic paints and pre-cut stencils. 150+ stencils to choose from. Wear a paint shirt or apron.Minimum number of participants to hold class is 20, so please register no later than Oct. 18.

Teen/Adult Beginning Weaving

Participants will learn to make a 10” square loom, how to warp and then to weave. They will leave class with a pot holder or trivet size piece. Minimum and maximum participants required for this class so please register by Oct. 19. This class is for ages 16 and older.

Midnight Forest Acrylic Painting

Come paint this Midnight Forest painting. We will be painting this on a large 16 x 20 canvas. You choose your own colors at class. A variety of animal (elk, deer, wolf, bear, etc) will be available for the silhouette. There is a minimum and maximum attendance number for this class so sign up early. Owner of Art Expressions in Virginia will lead your child in a Northern Lights acrylic painting. A variety of animal stencils will be available to put on their scene. Christmas Luncheon and Wassail Concert at Old Rittenhouse Inn, Bayfield, Wisconsin

 

Join us on this deluxe motor-coach bus trip on Dec. 8 to the Old Rittenhouse Inn in Bayfield, Wisconsin for a 3-course Christmas luncheon paired with a concert of holiday music performed by the Rittenhouse Singers, a professional vocal choir backed by local musicians and directed by Innkeeper, Jerry Phillips.The Inn is fully decorated for the season: her pillars are wrapped in ribbons, evergreen boughs, and twinkling lights.
