National Honor Society
The purpose of National Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship and service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in students.
Members of the National Honor Society must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.60. Once they meet this criteria, they fill out an application with questions regarding service, leadership, and character. This application is evaluated by a faculty council and members are selected based on the answers in their applications.
Applications are handed out near the end of October and our Induction Ceremony is usually in December.
The National Honor Society meets approximately once a month. The purpose of our meetings is to plan a service activity for the school year. We will host a Blood Drive through the Memorial Blood Center in October 2018 and in March 2019. We participate in Dr. Seuss' Read Across America Day in the North Woods Elementary School. We also ran two very successful Pennies for Patients Drive for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. In March of 2017, we raised $2,276.34. In March of 2018, we raised $2,310.32. Let's see if we can raise more than that in March 2019!
