National Honor Society
Grades 10-12

The purpose of National Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship and service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in students.

Members of the National Honor Society must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.60. Once they meet this criteria, they fill out an application with questions regarding service, leadership, and character. This application is evaluated by a faculty council and members are selected based on the answers in their applications.

Applications are handed out near the end of October and our Induction Ceremony is usually in December or January.

The National Honor Society meets approximately once a month. The purpose of our meetings is to plan a service activity for the school year. We will host a Blood Drive through the Memorial Blood Center in December 2022 and in March 2023. We participate in Dr. Seuss' Read Across America Day in the North Woods Elementary School. NHS will also work with VHHP's Hearts for Hospice drive at the school.

We also ran four very successful Pennies for Patients Drive for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
